The Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton, 42, was discharged from the hospital on 28 January 2024, after an abdominal surgery. The surgery was planned well in advance. Kate was admitted to the hospital, London Clinic, earlier last month and underwent the surgery on 16 January. Kensington palace described the surgery as “successful.” The spokesperson did not elaborate on the type of surgery but confirmed that the medical issue faced by the princess was non-cancerous.
Kate will now continue with her post operation recovery at her home in Windsor along with her husband, Prince William and the three children Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 8, and Prince Louis, 5.
Prince William had postponed most of his engagements during the period Kate was in the hospital. The palace spokesperson stated that the Prince would resume his engagements once Kate was settled at home. Kate is likely to take more time to recover until after Easter. Until then she would not be resuming her public duties. Last time, Kate appeared publicly was on Christmas Day alongside the members of the royal family during the family’s traditional Christmas morning service at Sandringham, the royal family’s estate in Norfolk, England. Kate walked to church alongside the members of the royal family including William, and their three children.

Also known with the name of Catherine, Kate was born on 9 January 1982. She is a member of the royal family, married to the apparent heir to the British throne, Prince of Wales, William. She met William at University of St Andrews in Scotland in 2001. The two got engaged in November 2010 and later got married on 29 April 2011.
